GiEBA™ is an energy and LED technology innovation partnership,
serving the commercial buildings of today and tomorrow.
GiEBA's award-winning Helios™ LED technology delivers the highest levels of efficacy (160 lm/W to over 190 lm/W) with uncompromising performance, flexibility, and quality of light. Designed for commercial and architectural-grade lighting, the standard Helios platform provides 5,000 lumens of light in a low-UGR, 2' x 4' troffer with multiple site-installable customization and sensor-integration options. Light output can be dimmed from 0.1% to 100%, with a maximum chromaticity change of 0.0005 and maximum Duv of -0.0001.
Helios networked lighting systems are based on the global DALI-2 standard (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface), also known as IEC 62386. The DALI-2 protocol provides bidirectional connectivity, control and diagnostics capabilities, far beyond legacy 0-10 and other systems. Currently, over 5,000 DALI controls, sensors and other devices are available from 230+ manufacturers.
Helios brings best-in-class energy efficient lighting technologies and DALI functionality within the reach of both new and retrofit installations. Up until now, implementing a DALI lighting system required a dedicated two-wire bus to be connected to each luminaire and switch control. This can be a cost challenge for existing buildings – such as the 5.9 million commercial buildings in the United States that may not be pre-wired for DALI. To overcome this hurdle, Helios luminaires and controls are completely wireless. They form a secure network with neighboring light fixtures, switches and other devices using an open standard, low-power wireless technology originally developed by Google, called Thread. Thread is the only wireless protocol the DALI Industry Alliance has standardized on, yet it is non-proprietary. This ensures Helios interoperability with the broadest possible ecosystem.
Helios was designed to meet challenging requirements for seamless visual integration and architectural aesthetics, while providing a wide range of configuration and on-site customization options. The standard form factor is a classic 2' x 4' troffer at 4000 K CCT and 5,000 lm output. Helios has six options for side panel optics (Angled, Angled Narrow Rail, Flat, Curved Slotted, Double Diffuse, and Wave), and three options for center optics (Diffuse Center, Round Center, and Slotted Center). CCTs can be specified from 2700 K to 5000 K, and changed in the field with a simple twist of two screws. Additionally, Helios offers factory build options to add germicidal lighting and emergency backup capabilities.
Helios lighting products have a "Plug and Play" Zhaga Book 20 sensor interface port. This allows any or all Helios luminaires - individually, or in zones - to implement energy-saving lighting control strategies based on occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, room temperature, and so on. It's worth noting that some Zhaga sensors available today combine a sensor with a manufacturer-proprietary Bluetooth or other wireless transceiver. Because Helios' communications capabilities are already built in, it does not require such devices. Thus any Zhaga Book 20 compliant sensor, from any manufacturer, can be installed in a Helios luminaire now or in the future.
Additionally, Helios' control electronics are fully D4i certified. D4i is a DALI standard for remote collection of luminaire diagnostic data. Each luminaire measures, records and wirelessly reports information related to its real-time energy consumption, operational status, power line voltage, running hours, error conditions, LED health, and so on. This reduces or eliminates labor-intensive periodic inspections, streamlines asset management, enhances safety and uptime, and facilitates centralized predictive maintenance programs.
We believe in creating sustainable and environmentally-friendly solutions that minimize our carbon impact on the planet. Helios is recyclable, developed with careful attention to circular design principles. Completely modular construction, advanced diagnostics, open standards and easy on-site replacement, upgradability and customization are geared for the buildings of tomorrow. Helios luminaires leverage unique LED thermal management technology and high-reliability LEDs. All Helios systems are designed and manufactured in the United States.
